Last month, Step 1 of the Life Recovery version of the 12 Steps took us through stormy, swilling, stirred-up emotions when we finally “admitted we were powerless over our problems and that our lives had become unmanageable.”
Today, we welcome the peace promised when “we came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.”

It’s interesting to me that the word Sober is not in any of the 12 Steps. However, the clear-headed truth in each Step point to the hope of a Power greater than ourselves, an Awesome God who, if we invite him, would love to travel each step of our journey with us.
Wise men of old, write about “the sure thing” we have if we don’t quit. Along with me, are you ready to take His hand and trust Him to help each of us find the steady pathway we seek?
People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, Steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because, in the Lord God, you have a sure thing (Isaiah 26:3 MSG).
