April is coming to an end, but it’s not too late–never too late to take the first step and admit we are powerless over alcohol–that our lives have become unmanageable.

And for codependents like me who believe we can change them, we, too, have to admit we are powerless over our loved one’s substance use disorder.

Most of us know the over-the-top drinking signs, yet we still struggle when it comes to taking our own searching and moral inventory (Step 4) and admitting to God, to ourselves, and other human beings the exact nature of our shortcomings (Step 5).
