The eleventh tradition of Al-Anon Family Groups states, “Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion.”

Now they tell me! After all those years of nagging, I should have been showing and not telling!

bossy broadInstead of yadda, yadda, yadda and blah, blah, blah, I will let the 12 Steps be my “voice.”

In particular:

  1. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

  2. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

  3. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

  4. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

  5. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

  6. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

  7. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example (1 Peter 5:3 NLT).
