Originally, I had planned to start this blog with, “In these uncertain times . . . ,” but every day I awake is a day filled with uncertainty. Those who know me know I’m a meticulous planner. That’s the controlling codependent part of my co-addiction. I am, however, continuously striving to improve that character defect–one activity at a time.
In fact, a dear friend once scolded, “Diane, you are so busy planning tomorrow you’re not enjoying today!”
That was before I allowed a Power greater than myself to lead me to the 12 Steps of spiritual wholeness—one day at a time.
Today’s reading in Oswald Chambers’ devotional, My Utmost for His Highest reminds me of Step Two. This is when I finally “came to believe that a Power greater than myself could restore me to sanity” if I just let Him take my hand and lead.
Living a life of faith means never knowing where you are being led. But it does mean loving and knowing the One who is leading. Oswald Chambers, March 19.
During this COVID-19 worldwide crisis I pray, you will take Steps to trust in the One who has the Whole World in His Hands.
