There are times in my recovery walk when I think I have all the answers, that I can help fix the other person who I judge needs help–my help, my way, of course.
But can I fix myself? Am I willing to balance my behavior with appropriate actions, even when it means, I can’t remake the other person into what I think they should be?
The beauty of the 12 Steps is that they are a constant reminder for me to rethink, regroup, and work on myself as suggested in Step 4 – Make a searching and fearless inventory of myself! To use the gift of caring that God gave me – to be the person He designed me to be. And pray for others to have the same desire – to be who God made them to be.
