In the shadow of the Acropolis stands a tiny church built centuries ago. Anticipating the shades of comfort to come, a fragile seedling, whose roots have yet to reach deep into the sun-baked soil, is planted in front of the church.

Because of proper care, the ancient church stands as a beacon of hope in the unseen. With healthy nurturing the tree with baby roots has been secured to a straight piece of wood that will help it grow into a tall shade bearing tree of refuge.

But first, we have to admit we are powerless and need support. When you are ready to take that first step, you will begin to find the source that leads to eternal strength you never knew you had.

Yet the fact that you are now fed by that rich and holy root gives you no cause to crow over the pruned branches. Remember, you aren’t feeding the root; the root is feeding you (Romans 11:18 MSG).
