Last week I went to buy a bouquet of bright orange, red, and yellow mums. The store, however, was out of mums but the garden center tables exploded with Christmas cactus and red poinsettia. Obviously, the rush to Christmas overtook Thanksgiving.

If this is the new normal, then making a list—a gratitude list—and checking it twice is my new Thanksgiving tradition.

My super loving kids, grandkids, sister, extended biological family, and my very special friends top my Gratitude List.

Next, my North Creek Church family in Coconut Creek. Florida, and my Al-Anon, and online recovery family groups.

Together, One Day at a Time, we are growing in trust and self-confidence.

From sharing in these groups, I have learned that life works best when I Let go and Let God.

What have you learned about trusting and letting go of questionable behaviors that have not worked for you in the past?

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all (Proverbs 3:5 -12 MSG).
