Thank you Lois W, founder of Al-Anon for sharing your firsthand, hard-lived wisdom with others. Because of Lois Wilson, I have a better understanding of the need to admit and deal with my dysfunctional codependent behaviors.

Incidentally, or not, Lois just happened to be the wife of Bill W, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. This couple focused on healing. They clearly cared, and poured their hearts in order to introduce us to recovery and the 12th Step. “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.”

And carry that message and many others, they did!

Speaking for myself, I cannot cure my own co-addiction, but I am determined to challenge my enabling attitude. And that my friends, begins with Step One. I see the value in admitting I am powerless over others, and I invite you to work the 12 Steps with me. One day at a time.
